I am jealous. My EV (a Benz in Spain) won’t do that but have found that getting overflow batteries was not a problem.
Which is good. Because OhMyGod we should have bought fewer panels, we actually -fear- bright days now.
Our house is super efficient which is biting us in the a55. We have an EQE suv, are installing AC, own a dryer…and if the car isn’t actively sucking down juice, we’ll generate way too much on a bright day. (And no,our panels aren’t covering our roof…they’re not even pointed the right way!)
This is what my house does in Spain. Our inverter max’d us at 6kw to the grid. Our panels run like GANGBUSTERS, though…this new tech is -bananas-, and we are emergency installing extra batteries this weekend because we can’t burn the electricity fast enough -even pumping 6kw into our village-.
The longer I hear people talk, the more I am convinced that the human race can be divided into two extremely distinct and largely unmixed groups:
