I opened up InDesign once and realized it would take years to understand that sorcery on any professional level.
Turns out paying creatives involves paying for years and years of experience and passion.
Who woulda thunk?

But I thought my therapist told me shredded Beaker isn’t real and can’t hurt me.
WORK BUGS?!
So glad I just left my office job to be a stay at home dad. I had no idea the risks.
There's a bit about half way through where they talk about a freelancer who says something to the effect of "Can I invoice you this, I've never charged anyone this much before." and Reader I have been this freelancer. The first time I worked with MCDM on a few patreon encounters I was gobsmacked.
Warning officially heeded!
You're not going to make any money doing this and no one is going to read it, so you must hope for a secret third thing to happen

@djstrahd.me hey, friend! Been a while but do you mind if I reach out to ask you a couple questions about potentially collaborating on a project?
Now that you say it, it feels surprising that it hasn’t happened yet.
Blanket censoring the word “gambling” is literally a pro gambling move.
Gambling platforms avoid the word for obvious reasons, so YouTube eliminating its use under the pretense of combating gambling is the best fucking cover a gambling platform could ask for.
It’s pretty disgusting.
Jimmy Fallon would host the Hunger Games.

Hot Take:
Chrono Trigger is pretty fun.
lets talk on big issue for artists, REVIEWS. lot of discussion on how to feel about these things when youve put so much work into your art. usually buds will assure you 'dont worry, that negative review is wrong,' but i disagree. i think it is important to remember that NEGATIVE REVIEWS are correct
“Oopsy, we just shit in the elevator on purpose. Please stand in the elevator with us while we explore ways to monetize a shit-filled elevator.”
also after trying to make this a thing back when prima games was a good website and getting derailed twice by two different owners, Skybox is now the official home of my annual shitpost game awards

oh god
yeah, we're trying to do something different
publish what we want, when we want, and offer professional editing and feedback for anyone who wants to do the same
maddy helped me regain my confidence after years of abuse from other editors and i know for a fact i’m not the only person she’s supported in that way. she is a leader through and through.
Gamurs 2.0
Fucking hell :(((((
Running out of gaming websites that I’m still willing and happy to visit.
What a shit show of an industry.
Employee-owned businesses are starting to seem like the only ethical, high quality options.
Business bros can’t accomplish anything except personal enrichment at the expense of everything.
It’s obvious, but it’s also a bit weak from a rhetorical standpoint so people might still be willing to engage with it. You’ve just put an extra step between the point you’re refuting and refutation of the point you’re trying to make.
This feels like a trap where the response will be “oh yeah? What about humans?”
I’d hate to see it become a replacement for critically engaging with ideas or writing. But surely it can help some people with some things in some cases. Maybe there’s a question about how not to throw out the proverbial baby with the bath water, and maybe there’s an answer. Hopefully we find one.
I need to begrudgingly admit there’s value to these services, although it is through gritted teeth because of the damage it has done to my industry combined with ethical concerns.
I just have no solid idea how to approach the topic responsibly, as an individual or as a society.
Appraising them in good faith, I think it’s admirable that their main drive is a desire to learn. AI might represent the path of least resistance for them. Kinda reminds me of people “asking Jeeves” instead of using search terms on search engines because it was a familiar interaction.
This feels especially true in cases where people are utilizing AI as an accessibility tool to navigate around barriers (language, educational, etcetera). I think a lot of people are using it because they want access to information, and weren’t taught how to properly access reliable sources.
It is being pushed by companies and included in so many products and interfaces. People are going to use it.
Damage control, at this point (barring any legislation/regulation), should maybe revolve around teaching people how to verify and encourage skepticism.
Been thinking about this a lot lately and, while I am by no means a fan of AI, I feel like my original approach to talking about it was more akin to “abstinence only” education. I’m trying to find a way of talking about it that doesn’t shame people, but instead informs them of the risks and concerns
To specify, I mean dopiest that I also love. Not just dopiest in general.
Maybe Wedding Singer.
