You would have to go some to get Spurs relegated. Which fair play to him, Levy gave it a right old try last season.

Levy may have delivered a fantastic stadium but not an exceptional (winning) team. Despite the most prime position near to central London + heritage of all, Arsenal aside.
Worse is always possible yes! But 25 years ago has you said which two teams in England would by now have shiny, big, revenue generating stadiums I don’t think you’d look past (London based) Spurs and Arsenal.
I believe he looked at you first. You had an advantage over Chelsea, pre-Abramovich there were only 2 big London clubs (vis-a-vis Man U/Liverpool) prior to him. There were other routes to be competitive against them, but you never really have been under Levy.
I don’t think that’s right though. Provincial clubs are going to be perpetually at risk of one or two bad decisions causing catastrophe (we’ve also been abysmally managed at times). The economic advantages and player attraction benefits of London (+ Spurs heritage) inure you to a much of that risk.
Even if we could build a 70K stadium, the government isn’t stumping up the cash for the associated travel infrastructure and the New England Patriots and Beyoncé ain’t going to be rocking up any time soon to NG2…
I’m not sure that’s a fair comparison with my club (Forest) or indeed Leeds or Sunderland. We are not a club slap bang in London, we are a provincial East Midlands club. Like Spurs we have our heritage, but not the inherent London-centric advantages. Your comparisons should be Arsenal and Chelsea.
On what basis do ‘[you] have beef with Maranakis’?
Maybe they will come to light when the full findings are shared. Maybe not. Even if Forest have said the worst things you can possibly imagine - it will not have impacted the outcome. That is not how rules work.
Palace have just cause to be upset by UEFA (the rules are a farce) and Textor. The ire at Forest is nonsense, at best naive and at worst just succumbing to rage bait. A world where people just want a means to be (ever more) angry, however tenuous.
Forest were unambiguously directly impacted, our whole pre-season and transfers prefixed by it. Of course we got in touch with UEFA seeking clarity. If you think that altered the outcome (even if we worded it in the manner of the most fevered Palace fan imagination), I’ve got a bridge to sell you.
#nffc 4 years ago today I trudged back in the rain to my car from Stoke away, convinced that it was impossible for any Championship side to be worse than us and that Division 1 was an inevitability.
To me it looks more like ensuring that we have 3 options that can play up top and also enabling combinations of those players can be used in one game. So more about positive options than concerns.
I don’t think this is unreasonable, albeit I am a bit more optimistic at finishing between 9-12. Just as a note, Maranakis is not quite the lunatic he’s painted. He’s never pulled the trigger on mgrs too quick at Forest and has built recruitment up over time with expertise, depth of coverage and £.
Slightly surprised Palace fans haven’t jumped on here claiming MCO given your links…
The rules are a farce but what you are getting confused about here is very simple. In neither the Europa League or Conference are Forest in the same competition as their ‘sister’ club. That’s before you even get into the other details. MCO in those competitions is irrelevant to Forest.
‘Unprecedented opportunities’
Depends on who is ‘them’ in that statement!
Confirmed Frieberg and Forest in the same pot then @forzagaribaldi.bsky.social …
No chance that Maranakis will allow green. No chance whatsoever.
I’ve created a new #nffc feed and have deleted the old one that I know a number of people used. The new one aims to be more nuanced in what it contains, with the aim of removing as much spam and AI slop as possible. Probably futile but got to try! View/pin it here: bsky.app/profile/did:...
‘Mortal enemies’ of Palace… You seem very overwrought mate and susceptible to conspiracy theories. I hope that you get the love and support that you need ❤️
Even if you don’t like the aesthetic I can never understand why even more air, land, water pollution of other energy solutions would be the preference. It makes no sense to me.
I’m still willing myself to ‘trust the process’ on Recruitment but needing the sugar rush of a couple more signings by this point.
Quietly confident your side, or quietly stressed re transfers?
No.
They don’t owe us an external commentary. But reasonable grounds for suspicion either of a clause being broken or an incorrect approach would be enough to put a hiatus on proceedings. The way these things go, MGW will probably end up at Spurs, but not unreasonable for Forest to push back.
It is not known that you have legal permission. For starters if there is a confidentiality clause and MGW’s representatives broke it, it would become null and void. That’s before you even get to additionally/separately whether Spurs broke rules. Forest’s contract is with the player.
You’ve read the clause and have detailed information on what Spurs and the agent have done then? I guess that’s why they’ve tied it up so quickly, what with them being blameless and all…
No doubt, he knows how to choose his words. But, like Textor said of himself at the very moment Palace won the FA Cup, he knew there was a problem for them, of their own making. Parish would not be far behind in the thinking that very same ‘oh shit’. Wasn’t even relevant to us at that point.
