Trump EO gives DOGE access to all federal systems, targets states, and injects cybersecurity risks Following a Trump EO, OMB told all US agencies to provide DOGE with expansive data on and access to all databases, systems, and technologies. Experts say this effort threatens federal programs, jeopar...

⚠️ State gov workers WATCH OUT

DOGE is coming for your data. They are not just stealing from federal systems anymore. Time to resist the pressure they are putting on state governments.

currently you can actually lose your job with the government for acknowledging that pronouns exist.

I heard Stephen A. Smith tell CNN yesterday that "people are afraid they're going to lose their job for messing up a pronoun" and it really amazes me how many people don't realize they are awash in intentional propaganda designed to make them afraid of the wrong things and angry at the wrong people

Here is a letter from the Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy threatening to withhold funding from local governments if they don’t comply with immigration enforcement operations.

this is the first time I think that’s ever happened

so the atlantic decided to publish an essay about women in baseball that:
- Does not mention Toni Stone or Mamie Johnson or Ila Borders or Kelsie Whitmore or Ayami Sato or Megan Baltzell or...
- Does not mention girl's travel ball teams (seems to conflate HS teams with Little League)

the only approach to trump that has ever made sense was β€œslow him down as much as possible while rallying public support to your cause” and while most politicians, pundits, and big law partners don’t get this, some do, and lawyers in particular have the tools to act on that understanding

Politics is more clear when you remember that the "waste" in "government waste" is the profit that some rich asshole isn't making off labor in the public sector whose only purpose is the common good.

love to be governed by people who act like examples from security trainings I would dismiss as so blunt they're ineffective

I will never forget when autism parents discovered autistic adults on the internet and their first thought was, "finally, someone who will understand how hard my life is" and we had to explain to them that we identified more with the children in their stories than with them as the parents.

I hate these β€œwhat have we become?” type posts because since Europeans first arrived in the Americas, some population has been subject to these kinds of policies and actions

Yes things are getting worse in some ways, but stop denying history. It’s racist among other things.

β€˜Who Is DOGE?’ Has Become a Metaphysical Question The acting head of the General Services Administration says it has no DOGE team. It merely lists at least a half-dozen DOGE affiliates on payroll and has a section of its building for DOGE use only.

"The question of who DOGE is has taken on an almost metaphysical quality"

This ambiguity is a strategy to avoid accountability. Broligarchs want to steal our public wealth without being named.

Before I was disabled, I took meticulous care of myself in my late teens through late 20s. At age 29 I developed moderate ME/CFS, tipping into severe presentation during crashes.

So I'd go so far as to say that a lot of the people who take care of themselves this carefully are already sick.
