20 days until Not a Friend goes to my editor! Not freaking out at all!!! I feel totally chill and calm about it!!!!!!!!!!
I can’t remember where I heard this advice, but I find it helpful for editing:
Start a chapter later in the scene and end it earlier. It helps me trim unnecessary lines of intro and end on a note that will naturally make the reader want to keep going. As with any advice, YMMV. #writing

Your characters do not necessarily need to be “normal” (whatever that means) but they should be *consistent*
They have reasons for doing what they do, and those reasons make sense to them and eventually will make sense to the reader
