Hey, Seumas, I'm still working on my Hebrew but am always happy to see what you are doing! Blessings to you with each of your projects.
Hi, Kirk,
Some I enjoyed preaching in the past were Habits of Grace, The Trinity, and a series that gives an overview of the whole Bible.
I loved your exhortation, "If you are a creator of any kind, lean into your embodied abilities and resist the pull of A.I. alternatives."
In the past I've thought, "Oh, I'll just let Chat help me a little with ______," but that impulse ruins the whole enterprise of creative work.
Thanks!
"We live in a dangerous world. The paradox of Psalmย 2 is that safety and blessing are to be found (paradoxically) by surrendering my autonomy to the gracious authority of Jesus the Messiah."

Yikes!
My enthusiasm for IA has been plummeting (grading a bunch of students' papers didn't help!).
I also don't hear many people talking about how much energy it uses.
This looks like a fascinating book!

For me #8 y #9 have been of great help, and I usually read a harder book while I eat breakfast every morning.
I have found #11 helps even if it's just reading along with a substacker who comments each week on a book (I did it with The Republic by Plato and it kept me motivated and I learned more.)
My problem is I have a stack of five other books to read first, but I'll put it on my list.
That book looks great. I haven't been able to get through the full version, so maybe that's the one I need!
This is short and sweet!
My brother just mentioned Memoria College, which looks interesting! I signed up for a short course on an introduction to classical pedagogy.
I love how many groups are now offering courses like this.

Thanks for this, Irina.
I would say that God's giving the Israelites a shabbat reminds us that we are limited, and that we should embrace that limitedness. Trying to "produce" is if we were machines shrivels our humanity and sucks the joy out of life.
Thanks, Alan! I've found your writing encouraging. In fact, I think you've encouraged me enough to start writing a book myself. I've said that a few times in my life, but I think I have the tools and motivation to make it happen, once I get out of the heavy part of this semester. Blessing!
I love the variety of Scripture. I definitely find the epistles the easiest genre to preach from, but as far as reading I like them all (law being the hardest for me).
Audiobook Giveaway!
Folks, retweet and like to enter into a draw to win 1 of 2 copies of the new audiobook to *A Jewish Paul*!

Johnson reminds me of one of my favorite sayings in Spanish, ยซCada loco con su temaยป.
Lit. "Every crazy guy with his topic." or "To each their own" maybe.
Thanks for pointing us to Christ and the gospel!
I'm enjoying trying to write in Hebrew calligraphy.
I've been working through ืืจืืฉืืื ืฉื ืื ืฉืื ืืืงืืืืช, an intermediate Hebrew book on Jerusalem.
I've found the level good for me, and I purchased the audio to go with it.

ยซBlanca luna
I read a small part of Miguel de Unamuno's poem, ยซEl Cristo de Velรกzquezยป, with my students last week.
It made me think of Four Quartets by T.S. Eliot.
It's a long poem that rewards deep reading. Here are a couple of interesting lines:
I enjoyed this! Thanks!
I hadn't heard of the two types of courage in Thomas. The idea of courage as endurance strikes me as a very helpful for my students (and myself). Thanks!
I'm finishing up teaching a course on Eschatology & Revelation. Of any doctrine this is the one that requires more understanding of the whole Bible.
I was privileged to teach, but I have a long way to go to say I have a grasp on everything!
Wow, this must be the release of the year: A translation of the Samaritan Pentateuch into English side by side with the Hebrew Text, with the differences between the Samaritan and the MT highlighted in red.
Best of all, it is open access!

Starting to get the web site up to speed with reality, that @appianway.bsky.social is focusing on automating translations of ancient Greek authors into readable English editions. Do check it out, and do feel free to ask me any questions.
