So let me get this straight - Luxon is going to fly to Samoa in the middle of a global oil shortage so he can receive an award.
An award that he *asked* to be given. Not one that was offered to him.
How very Trumpy of him.

Crusher Collins wanting to be a Matai
I surmise someone who will be leaving parliament soon wished she had asked for a title from Samoa and will be very jealous now.
Can @duncanwebbmp.bsky.social or @chewienz.bsky.social use your connections to assist Samoa to get FIFAs help to give a participation trophy to the PM π
- fonterras greedy shareholders have sold βourβ brands, watties sold out years ago, even our beloved local Barkers is now owned by the french. If success means selling our food security off shore to satisfy personal greed then tell me again about trickle down? #FoodInsecurity #NZPol
As we as having the same surname it doesnβt surprise me how often I repost you. I think we have very similar views as well as surname π. Iβd only change one thing from your post - itβs that I (and I surmise you) think βPoverty is Actually Government Policy β.
Time to pass a law that any party spokesperson of media outlet that opines with hindsight reckons on pandemic management has to show this chart in the background at all times #nzpol
THIS. If that lockdown had lasted another week, I wouldn't have been able to attend my mother's funeral on the East Coast - which was the day after she died.
But she wouldn't have had the grace of being able to die in her own bed if the "let it rip" goons had been in charge.
I surmise that their reading rates are better than the poor kids that died from Covid π. Forever thankful that NZ did such a fantastic effort to save lives. Forever angry by the conservative right, MSM, politicians and social media frazzled minds that value themselves over the lives of everyone else
Watched my dad get a 4 year sentence at a maximum security facility over blue collar crime while pedophiles are put on quick Home Detention stints.
Remember when National said their "Tough on Crime" was working?
Havenβt been watching much of the news lately but watching tonight makes me think a lot of the American government is made up of cosplaying losers who would have lived in their mums basement into their 30s.
A chocolate fish for the first journalist to ask Luxon or Willis "Will you take full responsibility for the rise in inflation this year due to Geo-political events, considering you demanded the same of Labour during the last election campaign?" #nzpol
The cost-of-living crisis is different from rising inflation.
Starting with food, power, & rentals, an incoming progressive government must signal that it has finished playing nicely with supermarkets, electricity gentailers, and landlords.

#nzpol Heads up and pay attention Aotearoa NZ. There's going to be a deluge of dirty politics and lies thrown at us on social media this year. Please remember to go to party websites to read published policies. Do due diligence and watch out for each other. πͺ

I want our greens to dominate Labour and the Right like Zack has in the UK. I think Chloe is awesome but she needs to channel Zack more. I want to see her dominant the news cycle and media interviews. I canβt help but think that if Zack was the leader of the greens we would be challenging Labour.
This one is pretty good
@kevinhague.bsky.social Can you get @zackpolanski.bsky.social to do a little video to spark interest in the @greens.org.nz. I would love his X factor to help.
Green party homepage, the call to action to Join is hidden right in the page footer
Another thing that really needs immediate attention is the call to action to join the party.
It's hiding down in the footer and should be smacking you in the face

A graphic with a dark green background displays the text: βPower company profits in 6 months: $1.85 billionβ in large yellow lettering. Below, on a white tornβpaper texture, green text reads: βHowβs your power bill going?β Small fine print at the bottom notes authorisation by Green MP Scott Willis
Meridian, Contact, Mercury and Genesis Energy are reporting record profits. Meanwhile, are your power bills any lower?
βChristchurch Hospital has started rationing dialysis to two sessions per week from three because of a Government-imposed sinking lid on spending to ensure Crown spending to GDP gets down below 30%, 1News reported last nightβ #nzpol
It all starts with a short visit to the lovely folks at IRD, who in 2021 started a research project about high-wealth individuals and how much tax they actually pay. One of the outputs from that work was a report in 2023, that was pretty damning

Maybe it's futile to ask conservatives to think a little harder, but the answer to "why are we bringing in immigrants when youth unemployment is at 15%?" Is actually pretty simple
Those unemployed 19 year olds are not qualified nurses, software developers, or engineers
Yes to Rio - please play him as frankly weβve become very boring to watch. I donβt know if Iβd pay to watch Liverpool if they are like that next season π
New Zealanders support more taxes on ultra-rich, new poll shows
Iβm thinking Trump would not grab a fire extinguisher to help save people, but run through people to get himself out. He is the George Constanza President. The more I think of it, Seinfeld was a precursor of MAGA. All for themselves and as Hillary Clinton said - Despicable.
RNZ broke the story earlier this week and it has been almost radio silence since then. This is big news with limited media focus, and no interest from the NZ Government in responding to questions.
The NZ Greens are the only opposition party quoted in the story.
This needs much more attention, now.
Cartoon. title: βBehind Every Numberβ Eight frames. In each frame, except the last one, is a child holding up a number. Numbers 1-6 have smiling, laughing children. Number seven has a sad child with the number 7 forming part of a banned symbol over their face. The last frame says, βOne in seven NZ kids live in hardship. Up 47,500 since β22β
Behind every number. Since 2022 the number of New Zealand children living in hardship has increased by 47,500. Seems like thatβs by design.
