Interesting seeing the comments about A New Age being entirely different to T&T and I think that's in part due to the beta being a small part of the full game. There are elements here picked from multiple editions, including alternative rules, fanzines and fan forums.
Today in #gameshistory: 'Tunnels & Trolls: Crusaders of Khazan', the CRPG based on the tabletop Tunnels & Trolls game, was released for the PC98 on March 9, 1990.
I'd say the new name is testing well, from the chats on here, Reddit, Discord, etc. 🎲💯
I've been a lifelong fan of Tunnels & Trolls. We acquired it and are re-imagining it via a big Kickstarter. There is magic and monsters but someone needs to dig out the latrines and make bread.

Tunnels and Trolls called it’s “legally distinct from Tolkien” hobbits hobbs instead of halflings, and I think they were right to do so.
We always play the game we like, in the way we like to. We don't worry too much how others might view it, as it's our own private fantasy world and no one else matters. We have no desire to justify it, as there is no need to. Monsters are monsters and we don't 'humanise' every species.
I'd say my least favorite part of doing this series on Tunnels & Trolls is watching Ken St. Andre's journey from irreverent young game designer to Gary Gygax (derogatory).
