Fortunately it’ll be back by Christmas. Even clean shaven I have a 5 o’clock shadow, and my Italian genes mean my hair grows like the kid from The Peanut Butter Solution.
I had to shave today. No, you can’t see it. It’s been more than a decade since I’ve seen my own chin. Why the shave? I’m having a minor procedure tomorrow and they told me I had to lose the beard in order to be intubated. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, but I don’t argue with surgeons.

Keeping with the arcade, here’s a game that was way better than it had any right to be. Willow by Capcom ate so many of my quarters as a kid, and was always a fun time. Don’t think I ever saw anyone beat it in the arcade, but I have gone back and played through it on mame.
I’ve always loved the arcade. The crazy carpets, the cacophony of sounds, the clinking of the change machines… and the attract modes from all the games. One that always drew my attention despite the simple game was Spy Hunter. The theme, the futuristic yoke, and a car with machine guns? Yes please.
Games with great soundtracks will always rank higher for me, and this is no exception. The original streets of rage is still to this day one of my favorite beat-em-ups. This was often a game played with friends; it just didn’t hit the same playing this one alone.
Rather than single out one game from this series, I’ll include them all. Gran Turismo has been a part of my life since the original PS1 release, and I have played through every single one since. I’ve even built a racing rig in my office to better enjoy turning laps in cars I’ll never afford.
Surprise surprise, another Zelda game! This one was special for me, as it was the only remaining Zelda game I hadn’t beaten. I kept waiting and waiting for this to be re-released on anything but the 3DS, but eventually caved and bought one just to play and beat this gem.
This is one that I have a love/hate relationship with. I spent a good 10 years of my life woefully addicted to this game and spent far too much time glued to my PC. It became a second job to me as a guild and raid leader, and taught me some valuable skills… but in the end it was best to walk away.
