Other than that I do recommend trying out each character a little on a private match or on the training room so you find out which ones you like
Street Brawl is also a decent way to try in a lower stakes environment since items are random and you don’t have much pressure in wave management although pvp combat then becomes a focus
Try some beginner friendly characters like McGinnis, Seven, Ivy and Wraith since they have simple kits and can scale strong easier than most and if you can, get someone to play alongside you

Very early test of the dialogue system for the game, I still have a lot to work on it's visuals but I like how it turned out and how few lines it took whilst being very customizable and easy to work with!
