welcome to my world. I seem to spend a surprisingly large amount of my time collecting data from random server apis and grinding it into webmap-friendly formats.
If you fancy something a bit stricter than js, typescript is an interesting diversion.

I would guess it goes against historical 'small government' approach and as desire for government to stay in their lane. In the 60-70s gov did own lots of infrastructure (BT, post office, Leyland, water, electricity, trains, gas etc) but was all sold off.

I've used kdenlive for the past few years. it helped a lot to watch their howto videos as video editing workflow is a bit odd.

Have a look at American coldwar foreign policy, what they're doing at the moment isn't hugely different to what they've done in the past.

You are me and I claim my Β£5.

I bought a 256gb SD for my old phone and my music library just about fits on that. It's a shame the phone's headphone socket doesn't hold my headphones that securely.

I recovered my cd collection onto jellyfin during covid and have a couple of big playlists for my ipod. It's great to have music that's actually yours and wont disappear for no good reason. Good fun crate diving on discogs, ebay and youtube ;)

When I did recruitment at lionhead, we abandoned tech interviews and just spoke to candidates about their experiences and coding motivations. The company closed down about 10 years after I left, so I'd like to think it went ok as a process.

I bought a couple of used aerons when I started freelancing in 2005, they're still going strong. The nice thing is when parts fail, you can get new ones.

Sorted out the kit for my forthcoming Play Your PhD workshop with the Flood CDT students.

Inspired by LEGO SERIOUS PLAY, the workshop develops participants' imagination as a skill and shows them how to use their research to help others see the unseen.
