Pretends to showcase strong working woman, but reduces life to choice between two men. Awkward narrative framing & unconvincing dilemma. Rogers at 15yo is especially painful.

I'd watched every major Oscar nom while growing up, so these are all rewatches. But this might be the most baffling of those I've dipped into again. And nominated for Picture, Director & Screenplay? You know this was creaky & stale, even in 1940. And I hated Rogers.
