I know most tend to go heavily into the sun personality for Leliana and yes, that's correct, but I easily see her as the moon in that dynamic as well

In her confession speech later on, Alessandra also had this to say: You are kind and gentle and so very compassionate. You want to help people. You give them hope. And you aren't as intense as the sun; you are calm, like the moon.--

"I get this feeling that you are at quite a personal crossroads in your life. Unsure of which direction is right, what path to take, or whether to move forward... or backwards. So, maybe your dream is about the Blight. Or maybe it's uncertainty. That if you were to fall, how would you know it was the right choice? Would there be someone there to catch you?"

I wrote this a bit ago of Alessandra talking with Leliana when Leliana expressed uncertainty about herself and who she is, but I think it reflects how I feel about her pretty succinctly

She's been stuck at a crossroads almost her entire life and doesn't have the confidence to choose a path

And I think that's a large part of why Leliana struggles to truly know herself; she never had an identity developed fully or had an attachment to one that without the masks, she feels incredibly lost without someone telling her who to be. In the wrong hands, that's terrifying

It's not entirely dissimilar to having Crows in Antiva, but those are usually a bit more obvious than the subtlety required of bards. Masks play a heavy role in Orlesian culture, literally and figuratively, to the point of never revealing your true self

And that makes you look at how quickly Josie quit that life too. Leliana grew up in Orlais and likely had been raised to normalize being a bard as just another profession one can have, rather than it be entirely separate

It's interesting to see how these kinds of systems breed narcissism. These are all so normal for her and it's just The Game working as intended. And I like how intentional it is

Yeah I certainly know how frustrating it can be with OCs sometimes. The good thing is we know the trajectory, even if we don't always know how the pieces will fall. We at least know the major points so it's just a matter of getting there

Never heard of that. trans kids are currently being hunted down, outlawed, marginalized from social life, singled out in their own schools, and you're asking me about some hypothetical parent who might pressure a child into being trans so they might what? fit in better? transitioning as a child in- volves years of determination. every adult in their life is likely to cast doubt on who they are. if they are lucky and have supportive parents, their families are often ostracized by their community. the idea that someone sees the hardships a family with a trans child goes through and thinks "they must have forced it on them" makes me physically ill.

Saw some folks doing this so I thought why not. The last one took a bit and for some reason forgot BG3 existed even though I've been hella obsessed with Astarion lol

All these games have had a large impact on me in my life and some of them showed up when I needed and/or least expected

Also, this would be where Alessandra makes the decision to leave the Wardens. Leliana was more than enough reason for that choice; she never wants her to go through that again

I bet Leliana will feel a bit relieved, though I'd imagine it's just more to process

The urge to strangle is certainly there... but I know how difficult this was for both of them. Leliana's over-analyzing everything doesn't help matters either :(

Just to note: I'm not looking for anyone to agree with me on how I feel about the game. I know where my feelings are about it and I tend to feel pretty strongly. The game's out and I did nearly everything there is to do.

It feels very much like a "I love it so much I hate it and it really hurts" :(

To get back on topic, the worldstate marketing was definitely a Choice, on top of all the other choices they did. But with all the internal shuffling and sudden team changing and direction shifting, they cobbled something together and slapped the Dragon Age title on it

The writing was on the wall when they changed the title from "Dreadwolf" to "Veilguard"

These days I just quietly deal with it on my own. I don't hate anyone that likes it but I'm not going to be actively looking for VG content. Everything's muted anyway lol

The game is such a giant clusterfuck. I /want/ to be glad we got a game at all, but I hate it so much I'd personally rather it not exist. Once the high of Act 3 wore off I immediately uninstalled the game; I'm never touching it again. Which upsets me further because this series means sm to me. Ugh

As many issues as I have with VG, the worldstate stuff was one of the biggest ones, and considering BW's history with IPs having continuous worldstate connectivity, I feel this really hurt the overall experience for me as far as immersion goes. It's pretty but I was numb to it for like 95% of it lol

Holy fuck the shit I just found in Pokopia man! No spoilers, but they're definitely endgame and I won't be able to do anything with them until I progress much farther. So fucking cool

Built mine in a couple days. Really enjoyed putting it together as a first-time builder, though I'll have to go back and fix a couple minor things
