If it was catering to the alt right, the main character probably wouldn't be named Avrun Devraj. I bounced off Returnal so I'm not very interested in this, but it's refreshing that they're not automatically making a franchise. Same with Hazelight and their four very different games.
My copy of Sarah Àlainn's album Isekai finally turned up, and while I've been listening to the digital version for a while it's always a treat to put in a CD and just immerse yourself. Once again, thank you for the music!

Lots of fun stuff releasing this summer but somehow everything is held up in preorder purgatory across various European webshops. Did I miss a ship getting stuck in a canal somewhere, or is everyone juggling shipments to avoid tariffs, or what?
Isekai, the latest album by @sarahalainn.bsky.social , is now available on Itunes, at least in Europe. Already the first track, a new live version of Beyond the Sky from Xenoblade Chronicles, is an amazing example of her evolution. I know what I'll be listening to tonight!
Currently playing Tactics Ogre Reborn, and wow, what a game. It's a crime that we never got a translation over here in Europe until 16 goddamn years later (and I thought Final Fantasy 6 took long at eight), and then on a dead platform. If we had gotten it here, the SNES top 5 would look different.

I guess Eiyuden Chronicles and Shadow of the Ninja Reborn show that it IS possible to get a crew of veterans back together and produce great results, so it's more of an organizational obstacle.
It would be hard if not impossible to just make it out of the blue today. MvC had 20 sprite artists just for the characters, and many of them were veterans going back to SF2 and CotA. Capcom had years and years of institutional knowledge at that point. You can't just replicate that with new crew.
