Forgive the blatant self promotion, but I have a chapter coming out that reads two earlier woman letter writers -Princess Elisabeth of Bohemia (Descartes) and Toute Belle (Machaut) - through TIHYLTTW. It is rather good, say I. Should out if you'd like me to send it :)

This session will explore queer bodies and texts as witnesses of trauma and weapons of protest. In particular, it seeks to use queer theory/ies (broadly conceived) and medieval texts/artefacts to understand and transform queer lives. Rooted in but not limited to the medieval, this session takes a chrono-non-normative and comparative approach across art, music, history, hagiography, and literature. Through this, the papers consider queer bodies (past and/or present) as a means of violence, transformation, and healing.
