I don't necessarily agree with not engaging. I treat it the same way I consider debates-my intent is not to convince the person I'm responding to as much as it is to sway those that might read it that are willing to be open.

But it's absolutely a personal choice.

Sync swimming and cheerleading are good as well. "Sport" is always tricky, but it's obviously an athletic endeavor that deserves the respect as such. WWE/AEW/NJPW wrestling at the highest level deserves the same athletic respect as Olympic gymnastics or American Ballet Theatre, IMO.

First thing that comes to mind for me is competitive gymnastics. Tell me the difference between a floor or pommel horse program and a wrestling match other than "selling".

...what? Pro wrestling originated in the US as carnival entertainment in the late 1800s. Mexican wrestling didn't start until the 1920s-1930s.

Current pro wrestling is a mix of a lot of influences since then, including England, Japan, US, Mexico, even Greco-Roman.
