We agree! We're following if/how CA develops a mechanism to divert federal income taxes from employers to a state fund which can be released based on the state's determination. We're researching different state-based mechanisms and would love to connect with current/former comptroller employees.

We are reminded of this quote from Abraham Lincoln to Congress in 1848, “Any people anywhere being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better.” We have the power and we are rising up.
Each day, more and more people are waking up and saying we will tolerate it no longer. We are boycotting, we are protesting, and now there is a growing movement of federal income tax resistance to hold this administration accountable for violating their oath of office.
We have loads of resources on TaxStrike.info on how to join the strike in a way that matches your risk tolerance (withholding all or less, lowering your tax burden, etc). But the best way to learn is by hearing directly from folks who have been tax resisters for years at our webinar tomorrow.
Totally understand - folks are feeling especially cautious about their data right now. We welcome folks to manage their data in ways they feel most comfortable, including using pseudonyms and creating unique secure email addresses for making good trouble.

To answer your question simply, anyone can change their withholding at anytime. It is our understanding that unless your employer receives a lock in letter from the IRS, employers are to withhold according to the info provided in the W-4.
