📡 Speaking to SVT, #Eurovision Song Contest Director Martin Green reflects on today's General Assembly vote.

He expects 35 countries to participate in the upcoming edition, while hoping the withdrawing countries return in 2027.

📡 According to Ynetnews, Israel's #Eurovision 2026 participation was secured after a "months-long diplomatic campaign that unfolded largely behind the scenes".

A coordinated effort involved KAN executives, government advisers, and Israeli president Isaac Herzog's residence.

For me, today's Eurovision meeting comes down to the following:
- A government has manipulated the contest over the past two years for political purposes
- The way they have done so is well-documented by the EBU
- The proposed rule changes do not adequately address these issues

I guess my Eurofan era is over FOR GOOD now that fucking Isnotreal is participating ESC next year...

DUTCH BROADCASTER AVROTROS WILL NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2026 AVROTROS has decided not to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2026. This decision follows a careful and extensive deliberation process in which we consulted a broad range of stakeholders: from the Israeli ambassador to Amnesty International, from the EBU to several European public broadcasters, as well as our own Association Council, Works Council, Supervisory Board, and the many thousands of Eurovision fans who reached out to us. After weighing all perspectives, AVROTROS concludes that, under the current circumstances, participation cannot be reconciled with the public values that are fundamental to our organisation. This decision was taken in close coordination with the Dutch Public Broadcasting (NPO), which respects and supports the conclusions we have drawn.

You can't blame Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS for making this decision in a lightweight way, as how many boards, processes and thousands of fans they have weight in to conclude their boycott.

And AVROTROS is right about everything they say.
