Folks, the use of AI to write reviews is a clear violation of peer review ethics + it endangers the authors' intellectual property rights. Don't do it.

Its occurrence is known only in SW Portugal, which reinforces the "threatened" conservation status assigned and underlines the importance of the region as a true hotspot of botanical biodiversity in the Iberian context.

This new sp. is morphologically distinguished by its stature, striking flowers, and a very specific ecology to the habitats it occupies.

It grows only on sandy cliff faces and terraces near carbonate rocks. L. almadensis differs from L. supina and L. polygalifolia by its narrowly elliptic to oblanceolate leaves with blunt tips and its flower coloration: upper petals white-yellowish, palate yellow-orange, and spur often tinged violet.

A new #toadflax endemic to Almada (#Portugal) !!!
A new species, Linaria almadensis, has been described from the cliffs of Gargalo do Tejo, in Almada, just across from Lisbon. Although first collected in 1843, it was only recently recognized as distinct by João Farminhão during a taxonomic revision.

🔍It is easily confused with Cirsium filipendulum, which may have been one reason for its lack of recognition until now.
The discovery was made by João Lourenço 💐 in July 2024, and a specimen is deposited in the #herbarium of the #UniversityofSeville.

🌸New species for Portuguese flora 📖 🌿
🥾Cirsium tuberosum was discovered in #Portugal, in the highlands of #Montalegre, a thistle whose existence in Portugal was previously unknown.💮
The species is still only known from a few subpopulations, all in the same region, inhabiting wetlands and marshes.🏞️
