Part of a huge conversation we need to have. Why are corporations allowed more rights to their image than we are to our own? Women trying to get nudes - real or doctored - removed online is onerous or impossible. But Mickey Mouse?

Why a liberal education? So we have educated people capable of stepping back from daily events to discern patterns and see universal truths in our human experience.
Enjoy France, not that you need prompting. Itβs a nice time of year to be there.
Is the Commonwealth Graves Commission not maintaining it? Or was he buried elsewhere because he wasnβt in active service?
Massive win for Ukraine.
The Ukrainian General Staff has announced that almost the entire Dnipropetrovsk region has been cleared of enemy presence.
Not a step back.
Yes, I recall him leaving his family from the book. I donβt imagine history judged him any less than it would have at the time.
Are you back there on the Canadian graves work or something else?
Nicely done. Do either still have family in the area?
You can limit who can DM you in the chat settings so only those you follow can send messages.
βWhatβs your phone number?β is my personal pet peeve.
It lands differently, for sure.
China vs The United States this will blow your mind.
New analysis from @policyalternatives.ca shows that federal budget cuts will hollow out significant parts of Canadaβs immigration system and offload costs to cities. By @davidmaccdn.bsky.social #cdnpoli www.policyalternatives.ca/news-researc...
I do think the PM is the right leader for the Trump era but, man oh man, I wish he werenβt gutting the government. Three I care about - agricultural research farms in Western Canada, Status of Women, and now Archives, all forced into ruinous levels of cuts.
"Just after starting on Cars 2, I was told by a superior that I would be uninvited from all weekly art department meetings because Lasseter 'has a hard time controlling himself' around young women... It was clear that the institution was working hard to protect him, at the expense of women like me."
Curious: why would they be hollow? I thought these were all carved from a single piece but this suggests they were in segments then doweled and glued together.
You are also incorrect. Mmm.
Sunday morning argument with my partner: brussel sprout or Brussels sprout?
It turns out every recipe blog agrees with me (brussel sprout) and Wikipedia, Martha Stewart and my partner are wrong.
Yup. By the time she died, Parsons was a committed and vocal Communist. After she died, the remaining contents of her house - every book and paper and stick of furniture - were seized by the FBI and never returned.
The EU has evolved far beyond trade so the mobility for work and retirement and study are the parts I think many of us would aspire to. That kind of integration creates great, unanticipated rewards.
Went to Malta a few years ago and it was an absolute jewel. If you can avoid the Russian mafia stuff, itβs a great plan.
I donβt think itβs one-sided: Canada has massive, stable access to resources the EU will need and a stable investment climate. I agree itβs a ways off as they are in negotiation with 10 other nation candidates already. Still - Erasmus studies, mobility to EU. Sounds pretty nice.
It would be a long stretch but, as one of the commentators in the article suggests, when the existence of democracies is increasingly threatened, differences on a few regulations seems a lesser concern. Also guessing that last year was an eon ago in geopolitics.
Older people like their neighbourhoods. When you have single family-only areas, there are often few options. When I was on my cityβs municipal planning commission, seniors said they would consider a condo if they could stay close to friends and neighbours.
Ben has a good piece here on the realities of Canada joining the EU. Is it feasible? Canada would cede a good measure of sovereign control over trade, immigration, etc. Other models are floated, some likely and not (really think we could split away major EU members?). But good kick at the idea.
Good analysis here. Gift article.
The last photo of third-grader Mikaeil Mirdoraghi, waving to his mom before he left for school. He was killed shortly after in the U.S./Israeli strike on a primary school in Minab.
Hegseth's statements are increasingly reminding me of comments by Israeli government leaders in the early stages the Gaza War - comments that are now being reviewed by the International Court of Justice.
A funny piece from the Norwegian Consumer Council. Itβs not just your imagination. Digital services actually are getting sh*ttier. (Nice to see a govt org care about it). youtu.be/T4Upf_B9RLQ?...
