The XC stands for extreme capacity or something I think - it's for cards with a very large amount of memory. I'm honestly not sure what happened to all your data, I would've assumed it would tell you you'd need an Express card...

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be an Express card. Those are very new and specifically say "express" on them. Other cards will not be usable on Switch 2, apart from storing screenshots and such iirc.
