Isn’t it weird? It was just a few days ago that I thought ‘Gareth Dennis would do a great TED talk’… there you go! Hope it went well!

What a week! I’m not usually found on the other side of the camera, so being the host of a video series recorded over four days was a fantastic opportunity for me to solidify my presenter and interviewing skills. Thanks to the incredible team behind this production, I had a really great time! 😀

Trans people don’t want attention.
We just want to have adequate support, to be treated like humans and left alone by the media.
Trans rights now! 🏳️⚧️

Guidance like this must not be treated as blanket policy and schools must try to maintain as much flexibility as possible.
Trans kids are trying to live their lives, which have become the subject of political football.
The societal pressure leads to this kind of guidance.
Trans kids must have their say.
Gender is not black and white.
We can’t push trans lives away.
This is not the right way forward.
This is regression.
Publications like GB News are already trying to push the narrative of this being a ‘loss’ for the safety of [cis] children, and by doing so are looking more stupid than they ever have done. Parents are allowed to express themselves, but their opinions are clearly influenced by the media.
Having painful memories of a time when I was in a school environment where I felt unsafe, wasn’t respected, and was made to feel ‘other’, I know what consequences this will have for thousands of kids who are already dealing with enough.
New trans pupils guidance came out today. This is a huge loss. I am grateful to be in a supportive school that will continue treating me with respect and dignity regardless. I can only imagine the horrible effect this will have on those already struggling enough in an unsafe school environment.

Have been speaking about this with many people- something’s going very wrong here, and I think someone needs to get to the bottom of it.
The film received a 23-minute standing ovation at the Vienna film festival, well deserved for the important topic that the film tackles, in a way that brings an entire auditorium to complete silence.
One of those painfully difficult ones to watch, it’s a sharp reminder of the horrific consequences of war, by telling the story of one child, who amongst hundreds of thousands, has been murdered by a political agenda.
Not exactly the kind of thing to watch on your birthday, but just came out of the cinema for a screening of the docufiction drama film ‘The Voice of Hind Rajab’ and would say it’s well worth the watch.
