It was so freeing the year I realized that I just enjoyed the act of keeping a garden and didn’t worry too much about the end result. Cherry pepper had a huge year? Bonus! Zucchini plants never produced anything? Oh well!

You have such a habit of being in Rochester when I can’t be there! Disappointed to miss you again.
I used this exact scene last week in therapy and my therapist finished my description of it bc she knew it too.

working on leaflets for Palm Sunday thru Easter Sunday and next year's Ash Wednesday will now feature the remains of Microsoft Word after I heave it into the sun. ⚓
Someone left their phone at the church on Saturday and showed up Sunday looking for it. Couldn’t find it so I took down their spouse’s phone number. Now we’ve found the phone but I lost their notepad I wrote their number in and only know their first name. Really hoping they call back to check!
Icy slushy snowy rainy sleety mix all day really suppressed our attendance this year by neatly 40% after steady growth the last few years. But a nearly 100% jump in streaming the service. Also weirdly the first year we didn’t have any children at any of the services, but more visitors than usual. ⚓️
We’re going bougie for pancake supper at church tonight, apparently. People have brought both Kerrygold butter and real homemade maple syrup to be set out for the tables. ⚓️
We’re excited to see it all. We did a similar thing with a white set a few years ago too and it turned out really nice. Hopefully we get to see it this week!
Trevor Floyd/Juliet Hemingray. It’s somewhere between a restoration and new set. They’ve taken some things like appliqués and embroidery from our old silks and used them to build this new set, and have added a chasauble.
They look so nice! We just got word from FedEx that our new green set is in the country, but we need to pay the import fees before they’ll deliver. We just missed being able to use them right away and now need to wait for June.
To be fair, if a position has an expectation of regularly sung liturgies, clergy who don’t sing well are likely to self-select not to apply.
Our congregation just received the tariff bill for our green silks we had restored in the UK. But tell me again how the consumer isn’t paying the tariff. ⚓️
Genuine question…who is the figure in red? Very interesting that Jesus in center is robed in purple, between [unknown] on the left in red and satan on right in blue.
There is so much going on in this picture and it brings a lot of smiles to my face even though I have never met or known either of you!
An image of Punxsutawny Phil in the style of a religious icon. Golden back ground, halo around his head, and wearing a white robe with pink robe over it. He is holding his proclamation scroll in one hand and his face looks like this a bit pissed off he has to do this every year. Couldn’t everybody at least wait until he’s had his coffee and breakfast in the morning?
One of the most sacred days for our @beautifulanonymous.bsky.social Community.
Has there ever been a published recipe that actually lists enough garlic?
I’ve done this a few times, mostly from Epistles. When I was solo preaching, I often referred back to previous sermons or would say, “I’ll talk about X idea next week.” It often made it easier than trying to have a fully new focus each week.
Dear Lord, if you can find just ten righteous people here in Minnesota, will you make ICE leave?

Who is it?!?!
I may be more surprised at some of the "missing" names being intentional than I am surprised at some of the names included.
That would be my guess, noticing a couple of names myself. I can certainly see how a name could have been accidentally left off or even somebody wasn't able to be reached in time. Giving benefit of the doubt to a couple names I noticed.
Blessed are those Gunned Down while standing up for others, for you will find life.
Blessed are you who are Detained, for you will find freedom.
Blessed are those who March, for your voice will be heard.
Blessed are the Observers, for your witness bears truth.

What are yours...?
Seems the right time to revive this thread from nearly a decade ago. What are today's #Beatitudes? ⚓
Blessed are the Immigrant, for you will find a home.
Blessed are the Asylum Seekers, for you will safety.
Blessed are those who are Disappeared, for you will be found.
Been seeing a real big uptick in these lately. I usually just block them at those levels
A-kern?
My current good news and source of joy is that I recently tried again to make biscuits (US-style) and have miraculously found I can. Good biscuits are elevated with a thick slather of butter. These biscuits don’t even need butter, have layers, and are soooo tender.
Thank you all. We ended up offering the committal prayers in the church and then she remained in the car at the cemetery while I prayed it again as he was lowered into the grace. Amelia was pleased with how we handled it and that she didn’t have to go outside in her wheelchair.
As the cold, wind, and windchill settle in even more deeply here today to dangerous levels, please offer a prayer for Amelia. A strong-willed and physically frail new widow who is burying her husband and is distraught about being able to see him buried and knowing it may not be safe for her. ⚓️
Also, if anybody is interested in hearing more about our downtown cong., Rochester NY, asa 140 hit me up. Great music program, healthy leadership. We also have a fabulous assistant rector, too. 😉 (Hey, it’s me. I’m the assistant, it’s me) ⚓️
