I know irony sort of got played out a number of years ago, but I would hate to think that any observers would think I actually think I'm a slinky sex machine instead of the anxious, pudgy, silly old man I actually am.

I definitely did grow up on goth, New Romantic, postpunk, shoegaze the Big Music, all of which owed debts to glam. Add that to my middle-aged bisexual vibe, and I suppose it's not so weird that I tried to play at a little androgynous swagger. I just hope the irony is visible.

Realized recently that glam is probably an element of the band I sing (and play a little sax) with; realized shortly after that I probably brought some of that with me, or at least inferred it where it wasn't specifically there. Which is odd, because I didn't exactly grow up on glam. Except ...

I don't express myself well in capsules, unless I'm writing rock lyrics (a new-ish pursuit for me). This will be an interesting exercise.
I'm following a lot of friends here for the expected political reasons, which is a little strange given that I'm not a *particularly* political animal.
