βπ» Coleridge wrote 'Christabel' in two parts, the first in 1797 and the second in 1800. It remains unfinished π¨ In this b&w illustration, Norah McGuinness captures the viperous eyes of Geraldine while the beguiled Christabel looks on. Dated between 1925-1929 when the artist lived and worked in Leitrim
"The brands were flat, the brands were dying,
Amid their own white ashes lying;
But when the lady passed, there came
A tongue of light, a fit of flame"
Coleridge (1797)

A digital illustration of a subterranean cave, with a waterfall and sunlight pouring in from above.
A giant Tyrannosaurus rex is emerging from behind large, moss-covered rocks. It has a grey body with some black and orange patterning and a bright red (possibly blood-stained) head with gaping jaws.

Adapted from Axelsson et al. 2013 Fig 2c: Histogram showing the distribution of diploid amylase copy number in wolf (n=35, blue) and dog (n=136, red). Dogs carry more copies of the starch-digesting gene AMY2B than wolves. Additional copies make dogs better than wolves at digesting starchy foods like grains & vegetables.
Dogs evolved to eat your leftovers! Comparing dog & wolf genomes revealed dogs have up to 30 EXTRA copies of the amylase gene (AMY2B) that helps digest starch. This is a key genomic signature of living alongside humans & table scraps for thousands of years π www.nature.com/articles/nat... #2026MMM

Hearken to the words of Marie. When the minstrel tells his tale, let the folk about the fire heed him willingly. The singer must be wary not to spoil good music with unseemly words. Listen to the words of Marie, for she pains herself grievously not to forget this thing.

A movie still of Jack Nicholson in Easy Rider with a black leather jacket and sunglasses, riding a motorbike with polished chrome handle and a superimposed cropped image of a Warhammer 40,000 Grot /Gretchin wearing goggles with a grimace and hands gripping metal bar handle.
Now I really want a Grot Easy Rider homage on a Chopper bike.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 6230:
Writing is freedom. You are free to write whatever you like, in whatever way you like. You're free to take advice, or not. You're free to describe the real world, or to build it differently. Your successes, your mistakes, your decisions belong to you. Own them.

Just to clarify, after writing half of the first and second seasons, I wrote all of seasons three and four and all but one of season five for a total of 92 episodes out of 110, single credit, no writers room, while also showrunning the series. It's not the entirety, but 92 eps equals 10 seasons now.

Page from the Ortus sanitatis (1491), section about soap, illustration could depict a soap seller, although it looks like he might just be a chap showing off his book collection.
In the 1497 publication there's a very different illustration.
I need more medieval soap related art.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 8643:
Writing a synopsis is one of the hardest things to do. That's because in long form, it's easy to overlook things that don't make sense, or are not properly explained or developed. A detailed synopsis lays these things bare, which is why it's worth persevering.
