Saying this as it was my sort of entry point and I’ve grown to love the style of games so wanting to take on a dark souls at some point doesn’t seem as daunting

Though yes, it’s the most modern making it the most accessible gameplay wise. Which would be like going backwards if you start here

Probably cheating but Elden Ring is probably the best gateway, it’s got the toughness but more freedom in how you go about progress and building your character
