It was a privilege to organise the 2025 RSC Nucleic Acids Forum at Burlington House last week - @rscnucleicacids.bsky.social!
The NAF has been my favourite event every year, so it was amazing to run it myself!
Full crowd, fantastic talks and posters, and a wonderful community π§¬β€οΈ
Our final speaker of the day is Thomas Maher from Imperial College London, presenting his work on the βInterrogation of the nuclear G quadruplex interactome through SG4Βdirected proximity labellingβ
Next, we have Alissa Drees from the University of Cambridge, discussing βIlluminating G-quadruplex stability by optical high-throughput sequencingβ
Our next speaker is Daniel Whitaker from UCL, presenting work on the βNon-enzymatic aminoacylation of RNAβ
The first speaker of session 3 is Johann Fritzen from the University of Mainz, on the βProgrammable DNA Protonuclei Reveal Hidden Determinants of Protein Phase Separation in Nuclear-Mimetic Environmentsβ
Our final speaker of this session is Korak Kumar Ray from the MRC Laboratory, discussing βANKLE1 is a DNA branch-point processing endonuclease stimulated by mechanical tensionβ!
Next we have Alexia Rottensteiner from UCL, talking about βA DNA nanodevice that measures the nanomechanics of live-cell membranesβ
The first speaker of session 2 is Sophia Fountain from the University of Sheffield, presenting her work on "qqFRET: A Direct Method for Monitoring DNA Allostery"
As part of NAF 2025 we held a career event/panel discussion, sponsored by Glen Research! We are grateful to Stacey-Lynn Paiva, Hannah Pendergraff, and David Hammond for discussing their careers paths and all their advice! The session was chaired by our group's ECRs, Ellen Parkes and Vicky Kamperi!
