I'm with you on that! Shortform means you don't really have to waste time thinking about the worldbuilding and can just get right to the meat of the story. Most of my favourite books are short story compilations!
YESSSS I love it. I know a couple of blacksmiths and once I have disposable income again I'm gonna ask them to make me some. Getting ones off Amazon is a risk, like I love the full-finger filligree-style rings but they're usually SO fragile, so just be aware of that when buying!

It's ridiculous but I've been watching compilations of those 'REAL LIFE GHOST CAUGHT ON CAMERA' vids, and they're all very obviously fake but I enjoy figuring out exactly HOW they've been faked. And it inspired my latest short story as well!

Oh absolutely! But the interpersonal conflict will really make the story much better than it already is. Like Gideon the Ninth? Starting that story off with Gideon/Harrow as besties would not have been as good.
How do you write interpersonal conflict when you yourself hate conflict? Logically, I KNOW it'll be much better to have this bit of conflict and then grow from that, but emotionally I want everyone to be best friends and no-one ever argues or fights 😭

Lieutenant (my beloved) has been to the Fey lands, and then returned from the Fey lands, and her memory seems to have STAYED in the Fey lands. In this world, 300+ years passed, so on her return it's a world she doesn't recognise.
She's going to make that everyone else's problem.

SINCERITY. Be weird, be experimental, be cheesy and cliche and clunky but be SINCERE! Some of the best stuff I've read/watched has been a little rough around the edges but the sincerity is what makes it incredible and memorable! But people are now too afraid of their own audiences for that. #SFFChat
