Everyone has heard that AI complicates traditional forms of student assessment.
What you haven't heard is that AI also makes it possible for motivated students to design & execute quite interesting projects, so some profs (cough) are now regularly running 4-6 independent studies. Sustainable? 🤷♂️

FWIW, word processors also affect a writer’s voice, which is why some authors prefer to do the first draft with pen on paper.
If you use AI to help you write, it affects what you say and how you say it. It’s a powerful tool. Use it with intention.
Collaging is also a widely recognized art form. Picasso being among the first to use this medium.
And if all you see in a collage is the glue...
It gets so tiresome to have these type of people try to school anyone on anything. :P
The thing about Claude is that at no point is Gemini telling me to hold back and workshop my ideas more before publishing them.
It goes straight into encouraging me to keep going, or, "make a youtube video about this!"
Which is great, but, I need more pushback from Gemini, which Claude provides.
Gemini also had a good response, but there's just something about Claude.
Gemini did offer a suggestion that often times friends have shared when I post rambling box of text: "You could turn this into a script for a video."

Would be cool to train a model on some personal characters, make quick sketches/poses and have the models generate finished images of those characters in the desired poses.

I feel the new movie should have come out today instead of April 1st, but, that's okay.
So, even knowing how much of the movie never actually happened, including the reason why P.L. Travers cried during the premiere of Mary Poppins (she hated the movie), I still loved Saving Mr. Banks.
Again, no idea why I never watched it when it came out.
Really impressed by Tom Hanks.

Glad this creator kept going after catching heat for using AI in his work. He's making a sci-fi series using his own sketches as the base for AI-generated photorealistic characters. Looking forward to seeing where it goes.

You can use AI to create art while continuing to strengthen your own skills in whatever medium you prefer to express yourself with.
Both things are not mutually exclusive.
Creatively, what most likely will end up happening is that you will use AI as a collaborative partner.

it’s never been a better time to get extremely good at having good ideas and good taste — the barrier to entry for creating has never been lower (podcasting, publishing, filmmaking, coding, etc), but so much of it hinges on ideas and taste… both of which are things LLMs are currently horrendous at
I’ve seen a few versions of, “If a client comes to me with a generated image of an idea they want me to illustrate I won’t work with them.”
And, if that’s actually happening I’m not sure you can claim AI is making it hard for you to find commissions.
