Very happy to share Niklas Jรคntti's PhD work on EPLIN /LIMA1 isoforms (ฮฑ/ฮฒ) in breast cancer (spoiler: both have opposing roles in integrin traffic, cell migration & clinical outcome). This might explain why EPLIN sometimes has been reported as pro- and sometimes as anti-tumorigenic: bit.ly/3Iwjtau
We are very proud to announce @johannaivaska.bsky.social as the recipient of the Biennial Finnish Science Award, given by the Finnish Ministry of Education & Culture. Johanna was described as a distinguished researcher with pioneering work in cell biology. Warmest congrats from all of us, boss!
New paper from @ivaskalab.bsky.social out now! ๐พ Watch how cancer cell adhesion dynamics are disrupted by inhibiting the phosphatase Shp2 - key to integrin ฮฒ1 phosphorylation. Blocking Shp2 impairs adhesion and reduces invasion potential. ๐ฅ๐ Read more at: www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Congratulations to Pat Caswell (@integrintraffic.bsky.social) & Alexandra Naba (@matrisome.bsky.social) who will be vice-chairs of the 2027 Fibronectin, Integrins & Related Molecules GRC and chairs of the 2029 meeting!
Happy to share our Tensin 1 phase separation project is now on bioRxiv.
