Finished The Lost World. I thoroughly enjoyed Crichton's writing. The characters felt believable even in unbelievable scenarios, and he pushed ideas that we are still dealing with now. Deforestation, disease, climate change, all as relevant as they were 30 years ago.

Finally got around to reading Jurassic Park. Absolutely fantastic book. The suspense felt ratcheted up to 10 for the last 100 pages or so. If only Spielberg had the guts to make Hammond as horrible as he was in the book, I might have started hating billionaires a decade earlier than I did.

Graphic with a quote that reads ββFears and prejudices directed against minority communities are too easy to evoke and exaggerate, often to serve the political agendas of those who promote those fears.β β Fred Korematsu, civil rights activistβ On the graphic is a photo of Fred Korematsu in his old age, a Japanese man smiling at the camera wearing the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
During World War II, the U.S. government forcibly took hundreds of thousands of people of Japanese ancestry from their homes and held them in incarceration camps.
Fred Korematsu was arrested and convicted for defying the governmentβs order and refusing to go to the camps.
Starting my challenge of getting back into reading. Had to kick it off with a smut filled, ride or die couple. Aly and Josh really sold it for me. Gonna have to read more romance books in the future.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.
Opportunities are everywhere.
Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Donβt take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are π
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has protected workers from on-the-job bias for 60 years as an independent, nonpartisan agency. No president in its history has ever fired a commissioner mid-term β until now.
Trumpβs actions violate the law and threaten workersβ rights.
The government has no business policing our gender or self-expression.
I saw a post saying that ICE is pausing its tip line, so I decided to call myself to verify.
The recorded voicemail said they are not currently accepting immigration status tips.
Good job, friends.
Governor Pritzker speaks in Jerseyville to announce Regional Site Readiness Program awards totaling $31 million to support site readiness activities at 24 sites across the state.
Illinois has so many advantages that make us an attractive spot to lay down roots.
Thatβs why Iβm announcing the distribution of $31M in grants to support site readiness across the state.
Weβre leaving no stone unturned as we clear the path for prosperity for every community.
Round one goes to Team America.
We remain in the ring until far right extremism has been completely and totally knocked out.
UPDATE: This bill was defeated today in the Senate.
This is a victory for government accountability and our First Amendment rights.
"Donald Trump's administration is lying to you."
Gov. J.B. Pritzker slammed the White House for saying the freeze wouldnβt affect Head Start and Medicaid.
This is how we do it. Call out Trumpβs lies to the camera, bold, strong action. Hold him accountable, every single time.
Good.

NEW: My staff has confirmed reports that Medicaid portals are down in all 50 states following last night's federal funding freeze. This is a blatant attempt to rip away health care from millions of Americans overnight and will get people killed.
GOOD NEWS: A federal court temporarily halted President Trump's order to freeze all federal funding, including grants for public health, education, and safety.
Trump's order would have devastating consequences for communities in every corner of the nation. Our leaders must block it for good.
