Karl Weick (organizational psychologist, foundational work on sensemaking) had a great refrain: “How can I know what I think until I see what I say?” I often think about this in relation to how AI can interfere w/ thinking by substituting its words for ours. This experimental study offers evidence.

Entering my Oblivion NPCmaxing era. The gates of hell are open? Wow, that’s crazy. Have you heard of the high elves? They say Smash and Bash has the best prices in town for warhammers and maces.

One thing that’s always been wild to me is there inability to recognize who the bad guy is. Jessup, Patrick Bateman, Jordan Belfort. These guys consistently idolize the obvious villain.

Dewdrops by Glenn Orgias
Mr Hyun lived down the hall, he was elderly and had arthritis so I’d cook him meals (he offered to pay, but given that I’d been cajoled into spying on him it was the least I could do). Everyone knew a...

This week in hex: a birthday party, anti-gravity secrets, the complexities of parenting. We are BEYOND thrilled to feature the incredible @glennorgias.bsky.social's "Dewdrops," an unforgettable slice of magic! Spread the word! 😈

Guys, I'm starting to think that the guy who said he didn't know he had a Nazi tattoo might've been lying.

very unfair to call this guy a Nazi merely because he had a Nazi tattoo, retweets Nazis, and praises Nazi shows. after all, he could just be really astonishingly fucking dumb. seems like a great candidate!

a thing that doesn't really get enough discussion about platner is that, even if you assume the latter here is true (and i do), it's going to make him strongly susceptible to malign influences if he gets elected to the senate; the framework to think about him isn't fetterman, it's gabbard

This legit looks like the opening montage of a horrible dystopian film, making it clear that team “restore” are the bad guys. Not sure that’s the vibe they were going for.

We just found out our AI has been making up
analytics data for 3 months and I'm gonna

So we've been using an Al agent since November to
answer leadership questions about metrics. It seemed
amazing at first fast answers, detailed explanations,
everyone loved it.
I just found out it's been hallucinating numbers this
entire time.
Our VP of sales made territory decisions based on
data that didn't exist. Our CFO showed the board a
deck with fake insights. The Al was just inventing
plausible sounding percentages.
I only caught it by accident when someone asked me
to double check something. I started digging, and
holy shit, it's bad.
lol this is gonna burst so fucking hard

It took me months, about 495 rides, recovering from a shattered right foot and hacking a folding scooter, but I finally own a Nintendo Switch 2 using points obtained from Citi Bike. Afterwards, it left me questioning the very nature of work. For @aftermath.site.
