Wrote a big review with my friend and colleague @varshneylab.social on the state-of-the-art in CRISPR used experimentally in vivo. We wanted to focus on their use in experimental vertebrate animals (apparently passé now but we persist).

Welsh climate impact story: my mum's local Co-op store in Cardiff has been unable to stock perishable food and dairy for over a week because its chill cabinets are powered by a gas generator. The gas tanks that power the generator are overheating thanks to a heatwave affecting the UK.

We routinely use PTA in my lab. We stained Daphnia, Zebrafish, mouse, Xenapus, axolotl without much issue. Occasionally need to optimize for duration and concentration. Fly has been the hardest to stained. We tried pricking the fly abdomen, but also requires long staining duration.
Yes, the uptake is too long. The cuticles makes it hard to stain the fly. And also hard to get an even staining throughout the whole fly.
Have you try to stain the fly with other metal stains such as PTA or PMA?
