Thank god. A great win for Hannah Spencer and the Greens, for #GortonAndDenton and for progressive voters. Made even greater by the huge Reform sulk. And the fact that the hateful Goodwin got whooped.
Now Labour, look to your left because you will not win from the right. We’re sick of that failure.

One thing I've learned from the Internet is that a lie needs 0% proof to be believed, but the truth requires thousands of pages of proof and still won't be believed.

White House is considering a National Day of Memorial if Donald Trump dies.

Sources say, "Well everyone is going to take the day off and party, so we have to make it look like they are mourning."

It was a Triumph Herald convertible JUL 33D and I bought it from a friend who was emigrating in 1973. It was red and I loved it.

Judging by their actions & words re Brexit it must come as a complete surprise to most of our politicians, incl Labour. Why else would you vow to keep up the red lines that protect the framework of this complete disaster, preventing the "medicine" that would undo most of it without rejoining the EU?

FFS these warmongers need to stop. I genuinely despair.

It seemed unbelievable that our history had been on an upward track of more and more progressive
freedoms--only to CULMINATE (or regress) into
someone like Donald Trump.

But I knew that it wasn't going to end there. It
couldn't.

So I began protesting to write that third paragraph
in the history books: the paragraph that says:

we fought back.

I don't know what our protests can do to his
presidency now.

But over the next four years--that third
paragraph gets written by us.

We have the choice to write into history that even if
our own democratic process was flawed enough to
commit this wrong to its own people.... we didn't
take it lying down.

I can tell you from vast experience that when police are given additional authority, power or equipment, THEY WILL IMMEDIATELY ABUSE IT.

Changing the name from Police Officer to Law Enforcement Officer and training them in Command and Control instead of de-escalation creates a degenerate mentality.

Reform is just a distraction from how awful the tories were, Reform is just a symptom of how easily the general public is misled, it's depressing πŸ˜•

The reasoning behind government wanting us to β€œask AI” for information is simple, so they can feed AI propaganda answers and it will lie for them. No more direct access to unfiltered data. No thank you.

Oops. They accidentally said 'erroneous' when they meant to put 'fraudulent'. Easy mistake when talking about hereditary tory peers, I suppose.

I waited so many years for a Labour government and I am SO disappointed. The worst thing is I hated the Tories for saving money by putting their boots on the necks of the poorest and now Labour are doing exactly that. No wonder people are deserting the 2 main parties. Shame on you.

If you think a just-fertilized ovary is entitled to life but are indifferent to what happens to a kidnapped 4-year-old with cancer, sent to a dangerous country without meds, you don’t give a fuck about the lives of children. You are just in a cult that fetishizes being against abortions.

Reading some of yesterdays newspaper headlines:

"China halts all Rare Earth Exports to USA"

"China suspends Boeing Deliveries"

I'm thinking............ Donald, you didn't have the cards!

I simply don't get why Starmer is being so obstinate about this. He's an intelligent man. Surely he can see how much harm brexshit has done/is doing to the UK. He's in serious danger of being a one-term PM - unless he sees sense.

β€˜Silicon Six’ accused of avoiding almost $278bn in US corporation taxes over 10 years Analysis finds Amazon, Meta, Alphabet, Netflix, Apple and Microsoft averaged 18.8%, compared with 29.7% US average

Amazon, Meta, Alphabet, Netflix, Apple, Microsoft dodged $278bn US corporation taxes over 10 years.

Paid 18.8%, compared with 29.7% US average. Profits shifted to low/no tax jurisdictions.

Same companies operate in the UK, dodge taxes, create social squalor. Force companies to publish tax returns.

It's terrifying to realise it's incredibly believable.

Look America your grandpa is clearly out of his mind but his mania is so normalized you keep continuing like it’s okay?If any other democratic world leader did this they would be OUT. No confidence vote. Bye. Think about that. Only dictatorships keep nutbars like this in power. Figure it TF out.

Rightwing populists will keep winning until we grasp this truth about human nature | George Monbiot Economic inequality breeds resentment and a desire to get even. That’s what fuels support for even incompetent regimes, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot
