"Artists peak at 30", "30 under 30", "by 30 you should" ridiculous. Arts industries capital craves young people to exploit and burn out. It doesn't want older artists thriving and guiding the young. It also doesn't want artists to exist. Stop letting cannibals tell you you only matter on a plate.

2026 self, surviving under a grow lamp
Been working with EnergyTrust of Oregon on a multiyear project about bridges from different parts of the state. The siren song of landscape painting has started to allure me, and iโve been enjoying the change of pace playing with gouache textures.
in my experience, safe state queers often look down on and underestimate those of us in what they call 'flyover country'.
there is often an assumption that barely any trans people live in these states and that we of course wish to live elsewhere. we should not have to leave our home for rights.
