Same. I've appreciated his prose the more I've read it. I liked his latest, "The Great When." It's as close as he's gotten to a traditional narrative.
About Jerusalem. I was blazing through it then stopped dead at a long chapter whose EVERY word was an invented portmanteau. Took me a year to read.
Yeah. I find it's a style I guess that I haven't had the patience for. Have you ever read Jerusalem by Alan Moore?
Put it on a shelf and see what happens when you write a new one. Who knows? Maybe time away from it will make you appreciate it in ways you can't now. I've kept some passages in my works that I hated and regret it still.

It seems frequently now, with the abrogation of artists' rights due to AI, the election, and more, that I'm reminded of a powerful line from a movie. Mr. Holland's Opus. I paraphrase:
"She would have fought this!"
"She would have lost."
"Yes. She would have lost, but she would have fought!"
Fight.
😞 Just horrible. While of course I'm angry, I'm much more sad and disappointed. I'm devastated for his victims. Neil had been integral to me since he first came on the comic scene in the late 80's. I spent a day with him and Dave McKean in 94, the story of which is kind of infamous. Horrific ending.
