Right, this makes sense.
Sigh, I think the whole operation Yamato segment of the story is missing like about 60 seconds of exposition before the launch to properly set up Wille's plan. Why did they assume 13 wouldn't reactivate earlier? That it'd be single-entry? And so on.
Asuka's comment never made sense to me. What's it supposed to mean? How can she suddenly tell 13's not single-entry and why'd she expect it to be?
Isn't there some recent-ish quote from Anno that confirms he was actively interested in Weta's Evangelion?
A combination of two shots from the Next Time Preview in Evangelion 2.0 in which Mari Makinami was seemingly talking to Rei Ayanami, who had three little Ayanamis hiding behind her back. Mari says "You know, your original was a lot easier to get along with." Rei replies "I don't know. I wasn't ordered to." The three little Ayanamis are saying "Old hag."
