I don’t post as much as I used to on threads because this time has been tough. I posted on threads a similar post but I will say that as a woman who wants to some day be a scientist with equal opportunities and seen more as just a baby maker.I’m scared. Sorry this is a lil different, but I’m scared.
My dear friends, I am a failure. I have stood upon life with two principles:
1. I’m a lord of the rings fan
2. I’m a space nerd
However, I am only now learning about Valinor Hills, a place on Mars. This has been a humbling experience to go back to the books and celebrate that scientists are nerds.
A sneak peek to my Sauron cosplay. Stabbing the fabric with needles is very therapeutic for such a stressful time. Except when I forget where my fingers are. Ouch.
So I’m broke from making a cosplay for Sauron but I don’t have a wig cap, so I have resolved to using a swimming cap for the wig. Hope it works?

I’ve gotten the ginger wig for my Sauron cosplay!! The only problem, it didn’t come with a wig cap. I tried it on and my hair is short enough that it worked. However, this is for a con. Okay so, I’m working on my Sauron cosplay, and I’m considering colored contacts. Last time I tried colored contacts I couldn’t put it in myself because my eyes kept closing, so I had to get someone to help me. The contact got stuck and their finger slid around my eye. Should I try again? #Tolkien

My favorite thing to do is to explain the fun things in the Silmarillion with no context. An example being how Elronds Dad is now a star and his mom turned into a bird. Do yall have any examples? #Tolkein
Making my LOTR cosplay for Megacon and let me say, hand sewing a robe sucks for the sole reason that my hands are not aware of each other and the needle finds them every time. But it’s looking good and the effort is worth it. #Tolkien

Thinking about the time I convinced my principal that dressing as Sauron during underwater character day on literary week was legitimate because technically he was underwater for a brief amount of time. Was a loophole at the time, but is hilarious now.

Do you know what I want? I want a historical documentary about Tolkien’s works. Not how he wrote them, but a documentary on the history of middle earth with re-enactments and Tolkien scholars labeled as historians. Does this exist? If not who is working on it? If nobody, who wants to help? #Tolkien
