How the Word Is Passed (Adapted for Young Readers)
Adapted from Clint Smith's #1 New York Times bestselling and universally acclaimed How the Word Is Passed, this must-read narrative takes readers to hist...
That’s why I can’t wait for young people to read Clint’s compelling memoir about how we remember and reckon with slavery in the United States. I can’t wait to see the ways it challenges, changes, and inspires them to work toward a better and brighter tomorrow. 3/3

It wasn’t until I was an adult that I learned about the beautiful, thriving Black community of Greenwood in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the terror they faced on 5/31 and 6/1 in 1921. There’s so much more that I didn’t learn about the history of this country, particularly as it impacts Black people. 2/3

So excited to receive the galleys of my adaptation of Clint Smith’s How The Word Is Passed. That they arrived today, on the 104th observance of the Tulsa Race Massacre - the worst incident of domestic racial violence in American history - is monumental. 1/3
