A hand knit scarf in progress on a grey background. The scarf is a lace pattern and is uses a green gradient yarn - beginning with dark green at the bottom and shading towards lighter green near the needles. The scarf is about halfway completed. The ball of yarn sits to the right of the scarf.
A hand knit lacey sock with a ball of yarn to its side and the just started cuff of the second sock below it. All are on a grey background. The yarn is a tweeded sage green color.
Both of my WIPs are lacey!

Pink babyβs bib with the face of a cow made by pearl stitches. Photo makes the color look brighter than it is.
The Roadside Beanie. The color work designs on the hat include sheep and boats with a color work rib. This was the Shetland Wool Week hat many years ago.
A crocheted pig stuffed animal sitting in such a way that its 4 legs are pointed straight out in front of it. The body is pink and the 4 hooves are gray. It has a 2 black button eyes with stitched eyebrows and a funny, crooked smile. Two small ears stick out from the top of each side of its head.
Here are some animals just in time:
Bib for my granddaughter with a cutie cow; Roadside Beanie from Shetland Wool Week many years ago; and what was supposed to be a medium-sized crocheted pig that seemed to grow on its own for my granddaughter. π§Ά

I finished my first Musselburgh hat last night. It for hubby and just in time for the coldest temps weβve seen in N Fl for a long time! π§Ά

A woman stands with her back to the camera hold a stretched out hand knit wrap with fringe. It has multicolored rows beginning with browns at the top then oranges, pinks, lighter oranges, creams, beiges, yellow-green, and greens at the bottom. The fringes matches the row colors. Woods are in the background.
A hand knit wrap with fringe is folded on itself. It has multicolored rows beginning with browns on the right side then oranges, pinks, lighter oranges, creams, beiges, yellow-green, and greens on the left side. The fringes matches the row colors.
Two weeks ago it was my WIP. Now itβs an FO and my garter stitch for this weekβs #showmeyourknits ! Itβs so warm and just in time for this weekβs cold snap. π§Ά

Traveling with a knitter. When my wife need a break. A moment of zen. The needles come out, the stress fades, and the creative juices flow. Here at Saratoga Springs Walt Disney Word. Perhaps Walt was a knitter.

Traveling with a knitter. Walt Disney World. This lovely young woman from Minnesota was knitting a hat. One of many, this retired nurse knit 200-300 hats a year to help the needy during the rough winter weather. I think that makes her a citizen hero.

Two pairs of hand knit fingerless mitts from Hazel Tindallβs Tak Six Kloos pattern using Jamieson and Smithβs 2-ply jumper weight yarn. The colorwork mitts on the left have cranberry colored cuffs and the ones on the right have dark green and heathered brown cuffs. Both pairs also use light brown, dark brown, oatmeal, and marigold colors.
These fingerless mitts are the same pattern and use the same colors. The difference color makes never ceases to amaze me. I really like the dark colored cuffs. Two more pairs to go with the oatmeal and light brown as the cuff colors. Not sure Iβm going to like those as well. π§Ά #showmeyourknits

A portion of a multicolored hand knit wrap. The colors, from the bottom to the top, start with browns then oranges, then pinks, then creams, to greens. Across the top are 4 mini skeins of different shades of green that will be added to the wrap. The pattern is from Purl Soho as is the yarn - Linen Quill.
My WIP for #showmeyourknits is my Quaking Aspen Wrap. I only have 4 more shades of green to add and then the fringe! Iβm so excited! π§Ά

A pair of hand knit fingerless mitts in cream and several shades of purple. The pattern is November Fingerless Mitts by Outi Kater in Jamieson 2-ply jumper weight yarn.
A hand knit cowl made in chunky cream yarn with flecks of brown. The cowl has a single large cable running horizontally in the middle. No pattern for this as I donβt have a record of the original scarf pattern.
Some firsts for #showmeyourknits: 1) my first fingerless mitts, which were also my first colorwork-opening a wonderful new world for my knitting; 2) my first cowl, which was supposed to be a scarf but I didnβt even have enough yarn for yarn chicken. π€£
Both have kept me cozy throughout the years! π§Ά

This looks so nice, but I can understand wanting to get it to feel just right. It took quite a bit of practice to feel comfortable doing color work. I have found that if I knit the color work item inside out it helps with my float tension.

The Quaking Aspen Wrap in Purl SoHoβs Linen Quill yarn using the Full Bloom set of mini skeins. The colors stripes go from a deep brown through lighter browns and oranges to bright pinks and then on to beiges and light pinks. Two of the skeins sit inside the WIP wrap.
The Flax sweater by Tin Can Knits made up in white yarn. The sweater hangs on a drawer handle of a chest of drawers.
I have white and bright for #showmeyourknits! My white Flax sweater, which I still havenβt been able to wear yet (weather has been warm but Iβm NOT complaining), and my Quaking Aspen Wrap, which Iβm now able to work on again since Christmas knits are done. π§Ά
