Kids grow fast, and so do we.
This fall, we're adding more than 1,000 seats for universal 3-K in 56 zip codes. Childcare will be more accessible and affordable across all five boroughs.

In this era of democratic backsliding, it is a great time to take steps to improve and expand participation.
Two white nationalists I exposed in a recent article showed up to try to intimidate me in person last night.
This is a press freedom issue.
Hereβs what happened:
It's an interesting example of capitalist realism - the idea that markets and capitalism are the only way that things can work. The editorial staff either saw price controls as too radical (Canada did this multiple times in the 20th century) or the dominant paradigm constrained their imagination.
The CBC covered the threat of price shocks from the Iran War without mentioning that the government can impose price controls or excess profits taxes on domestic producers to mitigate the effects on people in Canada. The price shock just means more profits for unaffected producers.
If Carney could show just a little backbone on foreign policy, it would be easier to tell this is satire.
Great article by @davidmoscrop.com.
"Liberal democracy is too thin to withstand the weight of history & events... Democratizing the economy by giving workers more control of their industries [...] a greater share of the abundance they produce would go a long way to shoring up democratic capacity,"
Good to see our Mayor taking responsibility for his actions...
"Increasingly, the landscape for large-scale events, particularly community events, has been changing."
Ken Sim and ABC found $1 million for a sign and $2 million for fireworks after pushing through a brutal austerity Budget.

βUnless the Canadian government said, 'No, you can't be directly engaged in this conflict,' then β¦ typically, when we attach officers to another military & they go to war and the PM endorses this attack, then it's quite likely that they're actively engaged in the targeting process,"

Canada is uniquely positioned to break the siege of Cubaβwe should be leading a regional coalition to ship oil and aid to Cuba, and prevent the humanitarian crisis that U.S. regime is attempting to deliberately trigger.
I wrote about it, and the history of the blockade, for @policyalternatives.ca
It's becoming increasingly clear that the Greens need a larger presence in the Legislature. Without the push from the Emily Lowan's Greens, the NDP will continue their centrist pivot under David Eby.
Hootsuite's work with ICE is shameful.

I regret B.C.βs decision to end its decriminalization pilot and am disappointed the province has not released an independent evaluation. When governments change course on life-and-death issues, Canadians deserve to see the evidence. See more π

Quite frankly, itβs outrageous that Mark Carney is cutting Statistics Canada. If he was Stephen Harper or Pierre Poilievre, I feel like this would be getting a lot more backlash.
Carney of all people should know the importance of high-quality data and information about the country.

$10/day daycare is both a social program and economic stimulus in the long-term. Austerity governments cut costs today to lose the future.

Early childhood programs have massive impacts on health and development. A universal program gives young children an advantage that can carry through the rest of their lives. It also supports women, who often bare the costs in career setbacks when they cannot afford $1,200/mo for childcare.
