Behold: the first-ever list of news outlets that have banned generative AI in their reporting. As of today, this is literally information that you cannot find on Google.

My goal is to fill the starter pack, so please send over suggestions with supporting evidence!

Also it’s striking that the execution of 36 men, 54 women, and 31 children is the traumatic memory that drives the film’s plot, an event that can’t (and shouldn’t) be repressed. We just murdered over 150 schoolgirls a week ago and it’s like the event left no trace on the American conscience.

Just rewatched Staudte’s 1946 film β€œThe Murderers Are among Us” to prepare for class this week. Forgot how powerful and well made that film is.

It is scarcely thinkable that every single story on Iran would not foreground the necessary reminder that it was in fact T who broke the Iran nuclear deal in the first place but here we are, in the stupidest of all possible universes.

Strike on Iranian primary school kills 108, authorities say Girls’ education facility hit as US and Israel launch joint military operation

Iranian authorities and Red Crescent Society officials report that more than 100 people, most of them girls, were killed at a primary school during joint U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran.

Let’s be clear: Slaughtering children in a school is an atrocity and a war crime.

Underrated just how much the US and Israel have been desecrating the very idea of diplomatic engagement by doing these obvious bait and switches.

This is the third time now that negotiations were used as cover to prepare for a war already decided. The lesson is to never speak to the US.

This is murder. ICE routinely deposits released detainees far from their home just to be cruel. It’s standard practice. To do this to a blind man on a wet cold winter day in Buffalo is to know you are potentially sending him to his death.

The hidden ICE blueprint that should horrify every American | Will Bunch An internal Department of Homeland Security document shows how ICE plans to cram thousands of detained human beings inside a Georgia warehouse.

What's more shocking than ICE's plan to cram as many 8,500 humans into massive, soul-crushing warehouses?

Seeing the actual DHS floor plan that echoes slavery ships and history's worst gulags with no rec space but a gun range for guards

I suppose there's a moralizing critique to be made here, that "moreso" is more conducive to muddled thinking than the stronger contrastive senses of "instead" and "rather." (Rather than disagreeing with X, you can just say it's "moreso Y.")

20.02.2026 18:32 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Language note: among college-age students, "more so" (or "moreso") seems to have completely squeezed the adverbs "rather" and "instead" out of the semantic space they used to occupy. Anyone else seeing this? Is this a regional thing (NE, NY, etc.)? Naturally I find it monstrous, and also a bit cute.
