It was Roger's idea that they all did solo fourths. Bloody stupid idea it was too. They could have done a killer album in 1969. They had enough material.
Yes, I missed Rick's (and Dave's) songs. Summer '68 was tremendous. As were Fat Old Sun and Childhood's End.
Too much Roger leads us to The Wall. He may have been the best lyricist in the band, but then he ended up just writing about his own demons, which isn't very much fun for the rest of us.
Enjoy Piper when I'm in the mood for Syd. Enjoy some of the songs on the overall patchy Saucerful-More-Ummagumma-Atom run. Big fan of the Meddle-Obscured-Moon-Wish run. I like Dogs from Animals, and Comfortably Numb from The Wall.
