An woman wearing sunglasses and a Minnesota Aurora FC shirt holds a teal scarf above her head that reads “WE ARE AURORA” while cheering in the stands. Other fans stand behind her. A dark teal text overlay reads: “Dear Aurora Community,
As we start the celebration of Women’s History month, we want to take a moment to reflect on our own young history and the legacy that we are all building together.
When our group of 9 founders came together in 2020 with a shared vision of creating a women’s soccer team ‘For Community * By Community’, we had no idea we were creating something as rare and beautiful as the Aurora Borealis. As we head into our 5th season, it is still incredibly fitting that Minnesota Women’s Soccer became Minnesota Aurora FC.”
Minnesota Aurora FC players stand in a tight huddle on the field wearing teal jerseys. A dark teal text overlay reads:
“The name Aurora, a name that has become synonymous with winning, but also with grassroots soccer, was chosen by our original group of Community Owners and we could not have picked a better name. The name was turned into the best brand in sports by our amazing designers - Nicole Meyer, Carla Zetina, and Allie Schmidt - the first of many steps fulfilling our mission of creating opportunities for women on and off the field.
Every day of the past five years has been a struggle as we build out a community-owned women’s soccer organization that has no peer in the United States with no deep pockets. But that struggle has been immensely gratifying as we continue with the longest unbeaten league record in American men’s and women’s soccer history. We continue to draw crowds, TV viewers, sponsors and sell merchandise that has never been seen before at our level of soccer.
We also continue our methodical pursuit of becoming a professional team. We are constantly working toward that end, networking and meeting with potential investors to find like-minded people who share our vision for a different kind of professional women’s team.”
Minnesota Aurora FC players remain in a team huddle on the field. A dark teal text overlay reads:
“Most of the founders have been able to step back and support the team as fans. Some of us remain on the board and are joined now by incredible leaders who believe in Aurora, helping build out the organization and supporting an amazing staff that is taking the club to new heights.
Through all of it, though, we remain so proud. Proud to support our amazing players, proud to cheer with you in the stands and proud that our community doesn’t just want to be fans, they want to build something better and bigger than just a soccer team.
We hear so often from so many of you of what this team means to you and your families and we’re immensely grateful. This is our year, our 5th anniversary, and we can’t wait to celebrate it all with you and thank you for being with us every step of the way.
✦ The Minnesota Aurora Founders
Matthew Bergeron, Wes Burdine, Andréa Carroll-Franck, Susan Earle, Matt Privratsky, Allie Schmidt, Rob Spence, Elisa Vicuña, & Andrea Yoch”

View from the Wonderwall at MNUFC vs Cincinnati
Security tried to kick me out of Allianz for holding up a FUCK TRUMP scarf during the anthem. Said they received “complaints” about it.
I said no and turned around.
I’m still here. Fuck ICE. Fuck Trump.

Bruce Arthur: The U.S. men’s hockey team’s triumphant return to the NHL is an exercise in damage control
Some players complained that partying with the FBI director and attending the Trump’s State of the Union was being politicized. Others apologized.
Some US men’s players apologized; even more talked about how much they respected the USA women’s team. What they didn’t seem to realize was that if you respect them and don’t apologize for the Trump debacle, it actually makes embracing Trump worse. www.thestar.com/sports/nhl/t...

Stop inserting POLITICS into my party with the FBI Director
