I love both but spent more time with Jump Out and it just edged it. Would have included both, but feels unnecessary to include two albums from one artist when there were so many great records from others too

Picked records from aya, Blawan, OsamaSon, RosalΓa, billy woods, Jim Legxacy, Che, MIKE, Maria Somerville and james K for this list
Enjoying reading comments by Reddit heads who simply cannot fathom that a music publication that employs several different writers with differing music tastes would include both Addison Rae and YHWH Nailgun in the same list of 100 albums
Popping back in here to say I contributed a bunch of picks to this mid-year round-up, including aya, OsamaSon, billy woods, Maria Somerville, MIKE, Los Thuthanaka, Saba & No ID, Niontay, Addison Rae, Carti (yes itβs bloated af but too many great tunes to ignore) and a few others
I know itβs only the first week of December but here are my personal picks fwiw
Fuss less about whatβs βtoo lowβ in your opinion, itβs pieced together from the opinions of several writers with ranging music tastes who, for the most part, want to introduce ppl to something new, there are several albums I loved that didnβt make it bc I only had a finite number I could include
Lots of my picks went into this list, including Still House Plants, naemi, Charli xcx, Roc Marciano, Kendrick, Moin, Holy Tongue Meets Shackleton, Schoolboy Q, MIKE, Mach-Hommy, Ka β 2024 especially felt like a very good year for great rap records
