i was shocked when i found out a friend who is a teacher (NS) had a Registry List for basic stuff for her class, because their was a limit on how much she was able to spend of her own money. Tim Houston is just a Doug clone
the other advantage i found of a good transit system is flexibility.
It was a nice day, i could walk some or all the way (5km commute)
Needed some groceries, get off a stop early to pick fresh stuff- much less waste.
except it you allow right on red at same time, since local drivers now know they are safe from any of those damaging 2 ton metal weapons coming though . Pedestrians will get out of the way.
if they did anything it would likely increase the wait time and reduce the crossing time.
people are always surprised when i tell them the button they pressed is just for the visually impaired sound signal, nothing different in cycle.
but just to mess me up, my city planner introduced a brand new "safer" signalled intersection where if i don't press I don't even get a Walking signal 😡
Will i still be able to collect my pension once i moved to a city that should more concerns?

still reminds me of my "favourite" Conservative voter who in the same conversation would go from:

More than three years as a city councillor and it still amazes me that every meeting on every topic turns into an argument about parking. It’s exhausting.
what fascinates me is that these are the people who would be first to yell if we cut anything they use/enjoy that is heavily supported by my tax money.
I'm worried about e-bike crackdowns, so I looked at all the options. Can we find a better way forward?
