Why bomb Kharg? It’s full of oil refineries. Bombing it’s going to push oil prices even higher.
Capturing it made sense but I can’t see the point in bombing it.
We have a verdict and we are heartbroken at the results.
This is only the beginning. We will continue to fight the remaining charges until every defendant is home.
I entered the workforce in 1980, the year Thatcher caused mass job losses.
£20k was 5x my annual salary.
I was made redundant twice in the early 80s. It wasn’t easy to get a mortgage then.
Houses were cheap because few people were in a position to buy one.

Figurines of Brady Bunch and Partridge Family fighting each other
I have created a diorama of the Partridge family attacking the Brady Bunch family. My life is very boring.
I think we're seeing that existential crisis in full display this week!
Lower bills.
Protect the NHS.

We’ve seen some amazing feedback and support for the campaign this week, perhaps most importantly from the trans+ community themselves, although a couple of higher profile allies have really helped boost our message.
Thank you David and Georgia Tennant 🙏
A couple from our collective were happy to explain the origins, purpose and progress of our campaign to the lovely folks at @shoutoutradio.bsky.social. Have a listen to the full episode, and our interview from 02.25 seconds in:

Joani Reid MP @JoaniReid Proud to meet four heroes in Parliament today. Sandie Peggie, the Darlington Nurses and Jennifer Melle. They have shown tremendous courage and bravery in challenging a warped ideology and a culture of virtue signalling that rewards institutional cowardice. Thankfully, the tide is
Joani Reid MP @JoaniReid Our Home Affairs Select Committee report on the Maccabi Tel Aviv fan ban has been published. An extraordinary and unjustified decision that exposed serious failures within West Midlands Police.
Joani Reid MP @JoaniReid My column in the Herald on Sunday: the Scottish grooming gangs inquiry is welcome. We must also confront how our third sector has become institutionally corrupted to the point where it sides with SNP ministers instead of standing with women and girls
Joani Reid MP @JoaniReid Follow The SNP are taking the biscuit. They chose to turn Glasgow into sanctuary for asylum seekers through their own virtue-signalling policies, and now they want the Home Office to bail them out.
for anyone wondering why there’s so much unbridled joy on ScotPol Bluesky about the arrest of a Scottish Labour MP’s husband for spying for China, take your pick

What do they think they’re tackling? Immigration is low and may be negative soon.

Iceland won.

My internationalism is in opposition to ethnonationalism and mercantilism.
Poaching foreign skilled workers is a mercantilist strategy.
I agree. It’s hard to achieve but the model that’s becoming hegemonic is “ethnonationalism” where people belong in their “ethnic homelands”: Indians belong in India, Africans belong in Africa. It’s accompanied by a move towards mercantilism and away from free trade.
I’m an internationalist. The think free movement of people is a good thing.
It would no doubt benefit British capitalism to import skilled workers. An influx of lesser skilled workers might even generate growth in the short term.
I’m wary of this as it might cause problems long term.
There’s a widespread belief that immigration is responsible for many of UK’s social & economic difficulties.
This is what I mean by the “immigration problem”.
Immigration think this is based on ignorance and racism.
Sorry to crowdsource this, but in the replies it would be very helpful if you could post links to all the discussion of toilets immediately following the Supreme Court judgment in April last year. I have a load of it but don't want to miss bits.

Sadly, Emmeline suspended her campaign at the outbreak of WW1 as she believed Germany posed the biggest threat to humanity.
In 1926, she joined the Tory Party and stood as a Tory candidate in 1928.
If it’s “just a phase” it’s been a very long one. About 60 years for me.
For a longer timeline.
