But what would Microsoft know? Luxon, Willis, Jones, Seymour, Bishop know the future is more fossil fuels and that’s why they are taxing renewable electricity to subsidise oil and gas.

Imagine a parallel world where NZ had spent the last 2 years doing everything possible to reduce fossil fuel dependency in energy and transport. We’d have lower climate pollution and a more resilient economy. Instead the Govt subsidised fossil fuels and now we are exposed to Trump’s madness.

Christopher Luxon forced into another correction over Iran war visas The Greens say the prime minister "snuck" into the House "late last night" to correct the record.

Fairly high up the list of attributes required from a Prime Minister is "good in a crisis". Then there's this fool saying whatever comes into his head. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...

Ministers continue to make decisions on fast-track projects after parties take donations linked to applicants One political scientist believes such donations to political parties could be perceived as creating a conflict of interest but official advice disagrees.

Just your daily reminder that Chris Bishop is both the chief fundraiser for the National Party election campaign and needs major donations, and the decision maker giving businesses access to the fast track process. www.rnz.co.nz/news/nationa...

Moa Point shows why critical infrastructure shouldn’t be outsourced OPINION: Rongotai MP Julie Anne Genter argues Wellington’s sewage collapse is the predictable result of decades‑old privatisation models.

If we can’t afford to have the expertise in our councils to operate critical infrastructure, how can we pay someone else to do it?

Judge called Winston’s speech ‘disgusting’ during disruption at club event, minister recalls NZ First Minister Casey Costello told the panel Judge Ema Aitken yelled “he’s lying” during Winston Peters speech.

Astonishing how Costello recalls events from an evening nearly 15 months ago (www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3609...), yet still can't recall the source of the tobacco industry friendly "mystery document" she passed on to the MOH to inform tobacco policy.

Why not spend $2.7b on solar & batteries instead? Govt to pay up to $180m/year or $2.7b over 15 years to lease LNG re-gasification plant, paid for by $15-$30 'levy' per household per year. That $2.7b would build four Benmore Dams worth of electricity

Today on NewstalkZB, Mike Hosking said it's a "reality check" for the Government to not have a proper response for climate hit areas.

Some examples of his previous work that may point to how we got here.
