They out innovated the old guard. Companies like Blue Origin, Rocket Labs, and Stoke are working to provide other options.

NASA isn't putting just a flag on the moon. They are putting boots on the moon. Human on the moon will have significant scientific value. There is currently a space race to get a functional moon base. Humans living on the moon is a big deal. SpaceX is letting us do it for less.

SpaceX has saved the US taxpayers billions of dollars. That using the tech thats already operational. They are working on the system that is theoretically 100x cheaper. If it wasn't for SpaceX the US would be reliant on Russia or China to send astronauts into space at over 10x in cost.

SpaceX launches more than the rest of humanity combined. They openly share their rocket development with the world. I would imagine that its hard to show balance when the information is so lopsided towards SpaceX.

Why would we want NASA to tank spacex? The current setup is that SpaceX builds great things for less money and NASA is able to do more because of it.

Not sure NASA has enough money to buy them outright.

We're in the middle of the golden age of space flight. Very exciting things are happening with SpaceX currently leading the way. I'm not sure the ostrich approach will be very useful on this one.

Joined BlueSky to check it out. I'm a huge space fan so I started to look for my people here. 99% of what I see is people hating on Spacex. They don't seem to understand the value of SpaceX to taxpayers. Hopefully this is driven by the new cycle and not the norm here.

How do you figure? SpaceX has bid lower than all of its competitors for all of its contracts. They have saved billions of taxpayer dollars.

I'm not sure if SpaceX has received any "subsidies." All contracts for things. All of those are much lower than their competitors. This DOGE thing is nuts but SpaceX has been a boon for american tax payers.
