Tomorrow's doctors are robots: Redefining healthcare education and practice in the technological revolution Embark on a journey to delve into the intricate tapestry of a vibrant landscape, where each realm excels with vital, comprehensive detail, about the future of healthcare with AI. #MedEducUnleashed

This paper was retracted in May for being too saucy (or because it was published early by mistake). Finally, it's out (again)!

A parody of AI-infused healthcare education that feels less farcical each day. With @insideoutanatomy.bsky.social

One university boosted gender diversity in advanced maths by over 30% in 5 years – here’s how

A lack of gender diversity in maths means technologies such as AI and quantum computing are mainly designed by – and for – men.

Millionaire Tax That Inspired Mamdani Fuels $5.7 Billion Haul in Massachusetts A millionaire levy in Massachusetts that New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani holds up as a model for taxing the rich has generated $3 billion more in revenue than expected without forcing...

NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Professors don't have the mind-control indoctrination superpowers some folks seem to think we do. We can't even get students to read the syllabus.

However, you can tell that to keep on top of it all, many schedule emails for 8 am Monday b/c by 8:01 am my inbox floods.

9. Conclusion
This review investigates the multi-organ consequences of COVID-19, demonstrates how much
more than the respiratory system is impacted by SARS-CoV-2. Based on clinical, pathological and
biomarker analyses in the first half of 2025, we reported long-term damage in ten physiological
systems: cardiovascular, neurological, renal, hepatic, immune and psychological systems.
This review is unique in the way the outcomes of various disciplines are combined and attention
is reflected on similar processes which are endothelial dysfunction, chronic inflammation and
microvascular damage. These overlapping circles provide an understanding of how the same viral
infection may lead to several chronic diseases, such as heart inflammation, brain fog, kidney damage
and immune malfunction, even in those with initially mild symptoms.
In summary, this article provides a coherent framework through which clinicians and
researchers can comprehend, diagnose and treat post-acute COVID-19 complications. It also indicates
promising agents, including antifibrotics and immunomodulators which may have the potential to
minimize or reverse organ injury.
In conclusion, COVID-19 cannot be simply regarded as a respiratory disease; it should also be
considered a more systemic disease that leaves long-term effects. To consider effective clinical care
approaches to public health and research priorities after the pandemic, a more comprehensive
understanding of its silent multi-organ effects is required

Ten-fold increase in NSW relief spending after horror run of natural disasters Treasurer Daniel Mookhey is optimistic about the state’s finances as he prepares to hand down his third budget, but climate change is predicted to contribute to soaring disaster relief payments.

The cost of doing nothing about climate change far outweighs the cost of taking action. Including financially. How long will we wait? www.smh.com.au/politics/nsw...

Real-time study to reveal crucial facts about persistent illnesses post-COVID Each year several million Australians develop a significant flu-like illnessΒΉ, and a portion of these people go on to develop persistent symptoms like fatigue and β€˜brain fog’. A landmark study led by the University of Melbourne, the Doherty Institute, the Kirby Institute at UNSW Sydney and the University of Adelaide aims to understand how common these persistent illnesses (like long COVID) are and use this information to inform clinical practice and improve health and wellbeing.

What actually happens to my skin when I have a really, really hot shower or bath? Not all moisturisers are actually good at reducing moisture loss. You may still itch as your skin recovers if you’ve been having a lot of really hot showers.

There are MANY more opportunities than are even listed here. Shortages of almost every kind of doc or nurse in many parts of the country. Less so in big centres but let me put a plug in for the small cities! I have only a 20min commute, great standard of living, and very collegial work environment.

COVID-19 Vaccine Effectiveness New data show the updated COVID-19 vaccines were effective against COVID-19.

Lots of misinformation in the comments. The science shows that COVID vaccines reduce transmission, including for recent variants. A 2024 CDC study showed that people who received the updated COVID vaccine were 54% less likely to get COVID-19.

I'm now convinced that @melrobbins.bsky.social advice to get out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off comes from someone who lives in an adequately insulated home.

This advice cannot be for, or from, anyone living in southern Australia during winter.
